The SMR battery module, which contains a lithium iron phosphate battery storage with a capacity of 3.2 kWh, is an integral part of Sungrow’s highly efficient modular high-voltage SBR power storage system. It is used together with the separately available SBR control unit and is compatible with the Sungrow inverters of the series SH5.0-10RT and SH3.0-6.0RS.

Sungrow, the manufacturer, offers a new, extremely efficient high-voltage power storage system for photovoltaic systems with its SBR series. This system consists of 3 to 8 stackable battery modules managed by a corresponding control unit.
Each of these battery modules, known as SMR, has a capacity of 3.2 kWh and requires the use of the separately available SBR control unit. By using this control unit, up to 8 of these battery modules can be operated together, allowing a total power range from 9.6 kWh to 25.6 kWh. It is possible to switch four such tower units in parallel, which even allows a power range of up to 102.4 kWh.
It is important to note that at least 3 battery modules per tower must be operated. A tower can therefore consist of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 battery modules and it is possible to expand it at any time as required.
The Sungrow SBR096/128/160/192/224/256 storage system has integrated energy optimization functions and is automatically detected when combined with the Sungrow SHxxxRT and SHxxxRS series inverters. The system can be easily extended by adding additional battery modules or even a complete battery tower.
